More Great News

Today was relatively eventful for an uneventful day! I woke up this morning and spent some time catching up on emails and testing out a new g-mail feature... Guess what- you can call me for super cheap, and I can call people in the States- get this- for free! It was very exciting to try out the new feature, but quite frustrating that it was the middle of the night for most people on the East Coast.  I did manage to catch my mom at 6am London-time, and she was not so pleased with the early wake-up! So, if you see a number calling you with area code 706- it is me!! Answer it! And, if you want to call me- just shoot me an email and I'll send you my digits ;) ... it is only 10 cents a minute! What a deal.

I took a nice nap this afternoon because I felt a bad headache coming on, and woke up just in time to get in the car and try to go to the commissary!

*Cue angels singing*

We managed to get our commissary cards, pass through the multiple layers of security gates/doors, had the car pass the bomb detection wands and parked in front of a dinky brick building inside the compound.

The elusive commissary. It was everything I imagined and more... and by more I mean WAY more expensive than I had imagined. :( I guess it isn't cheap to ship Hot Pockets and Ben and Jerry's pints all the way to the other side of the world.  It was still totally worth it.  I got Ritz Crackers, a box of liquid milk, Honey Nut Cheerioes, noodles, Reese's Cups, 3 Diet Dr. Peppers, and some Chewy Bars... all necessities of course!

We came home, plopped back down in front of our computers and got some quality skyping before making some plain noodles for dinner. Sav wasn't feeling so hot most of the day, so this was a perfect meal!   They were so yummy- sprinkled with olive oil, salt, and pepper- I could live on this!

Anyway, back to the subject of this blog: More Great News.... After dinner, Echko g-chatted me this great story from CNN: Live Tiger Cub Found in Suitcase at Thai Airport ... now that is seriously great news.  Someone honestly tried to steal a tiger?! I guess it isn't that hard to believe- look at how cute it is! As much as I want one of these little duders I'm not going to try and bring one back with me to the States for Christmas-- they are cracking down on that type of exporting.

E-book, success! 

That, plus my being able to wrangle an e-book version of Mockingjay set me up for a perfect end to a relaxing day... and then...

Skyping with my nephew!

FINALLY! the best news yet:) CATHERINE AND KATIE ARE HAVING A BOY! I got to skype in and see all the pictures from the ultrasounds first hand :) A little boy is growing inside of Katie's belly and I am going to be an Auntie <3 He is 6 ounces and very active with his arms and legs! Can't wait to see more pictures as he grows :)
